Lead Guide!
"The
universe is the only
self-referent mode of being in the phenomenal world. Every other being is
universe-referent in itself and in its every activity. Awareness that the
universe is more cosmosgenesis than cosmos might be the greatest change in
human consciousness that has taken place since the awakening of the human mind
in the Paleolithic Period." — Thomas Berry

| Tom Wojick |

|
| President, The Renewal Group |
Tom Wojick is a trainer, consultant, and coach with over 18 years experience as a senior executive in behavioral medicine
and health care; he is now a principle and president of The Renewal Group, Inc.
After earning a master's degree in counseling education from the University of Connecticut, Tom served as a leader in
several health care organizations. In 1998, in addition to his executive duties, Tom developed and implemented an Institute
for Mind/Body Medicine with Harvard Medical School's Mind/Body Institute. This affiliation provided Tom the opportunity to
advance his training, knowledge and skills in the field of complementary and integrative medicine. It also ignited his passion
for working with individuals and organizations to help them deal with change and to maximize their potential.
Through his association and experience with the Mind/Body Institute and his own self-directed learning, Tom was inspired
to create a training and development model to assist individuals and organizations to assess, understand and implement strategies
to enhance their effectiveness and performance. He calls his model EcoDomains. His model integrates the science of stress,
the neurosciences, resiliency research and emotional intelligence in a wholistic, dynamic approach that is insightful, renewing
and revitalizing. The model seeks alignment and attunement with four primary areas of growth and development that can either
drain or provide the energy needed to maximize potential or create dissonance and vulnerabilities.
Tom has also taught at colleges and universities on a part-time basis since he began his master's degree work at the University
of Connecticut. Currently he is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Richmond's Robins School of Business Management
Institute. He teaches a course entitled "Leadership-Achieving Results The Emotionally Intelligent Way". Tom also
taught courses for undergraduates at the University entitled "Success Over Stress-Maximizing Your Potential" and
courses in Mind/Body Medicine for the school of Continuing Education.
The role of trainer and consultant are not new to Tom. Throughout his executive career he worked on selected projects
and programs in partnership with other consultants with clients such as Disney and Texaco. In his leadership roles his philosophy
was to engage his management teams in developing leadership potential and in implementing employee and customer programs that
focused on creating cultures and climates of commitment, loyalty and service excellence.
Tom's self-directed learning and quest for information and tools to assist individuals and organizations to enhance their
effectiveness lead him to Q-Metrics and Essi Systems who developed the EQ Map and the Resiliency Map respectively. The Maps
are self-administered and scored assessments that provide feedback to individuals on their EQ and resiliency strengths and
vulnerabilities. Tom was certified in 2001 by Q-Metrics in the use of the EQ Map, which is based on the work of Dr. Robert
Cooper and his well-known book, Executive EQ: Emotional Intelligence in Leadership and Organizations, and Esther Orioli, the
CEO of Essi Systems. Tom's commitment to bring the power of emotional intelligence to individuals and organizations resulted
in further training and certification by Six Seconds, an internationally recognized leader in the field of emotional intelligence,
in 2001.
Tom's consulting and training clients are varied, including business, health care, government and educational organizations
and individuals. He has presented at national conferences and conventions. Participants of his workshops and presentations
have characterized his work as inspirational, life changing and motivational.
